Biography
David is the definition of perseverance and athletic excellence. A high-level athlete since childhood, this Laval resident of French origin first forged his discipline in swimming and volleyball before becoming an iconic figure in Canadian dragon boat. A father of three, he has seamlessly integrated his passion into family life, now sharing international waters with his eldest son. With over 80 world medals to his name, David combines unparalleled competitive experience with a hunger for new challenges, now taking on long-distance trail running.
Background
After moving to Quebec in 2005, David quickly rose through the ranks of dragon boat to reach the world elite. A continuous member of the Canadian National Team since 2009, he has represented both his country and his club, the Montreal 22 Dragons, across the globe—from China to Hungary. His natural leadership led him to become captain of the Senior National Team in 2025, guiding Canada to a historic haul of 8 medals. In 2025, he expanded his horizons into trail running, finding a new arena for personal growth in the endurance and grit of backcountry racing.

In dragon boat, David is aiming for gold at the Canam Championship in Montreal as well as the World Club Crew Championships in Hualien, Taiwan. At the same time, he has set performance targets in trail running, aiming for a top 20% finish in major events such as the Hardloop Trail in France (37 km), UTMB Mont-Tremblant (46 km), and the UTHC (65 km). His journey is the true reflection of a relentless pursuit of strength, speed, and resilience.
