Biography
Étienne Papineau discovered golf at the age of four, introduced to the sport by his father. What started as a simple pastime quickly became a true passion ; a space for discipline, learning and drive. By age nine, he was already competing, steadily establishing himself as one of Quebec’s most promising young golfer.
Career path
Throughout his youth, Étienne competed on the Golf Québec circuit, eventually earning a spot on Team Canada at just 17 years old. That same year, he represented the country at the Junior World Championship in Japan, finishing 15th, and returning the following year to finish 10th.
His talent later brought him to West Virginia University, where he played NCAA golf from 2016 to 2021. During that time, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Psychology, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a coaching certification, deepening his understanding of high-level performance ; both physical and mental.

– Selected to Team Canada at age 17

– Five NCAA seasons with West Virginia University
– Winner on the PGA Tour Canada in 2023

Driven and focused, Étienne continues to pursue the same long-term goal: earning his PGA Tour card and securing his place among the sport’s elite. He will return to the PGA Tour Americas in 2026, bringing experience, maturity and a relentless determination to push his game even further.
