Myriam Coulombe

Powerlifting athlete

Biography

Myriam has been immersed in the world of sports since a young age. For over a decade, team sports forged her competitive spirit, discipline, and rigor. A versatile and passionate athlete, she has explored numerous disciplines, ranging from ice sports to functional training, and ultimately strength sports. Today, as a powerlifting ambassador and a professional firefighter, she has developed an unbreakable bond with self-improvement, resilience, and the constant drive to push the limits of her body and mind.

Background

For over 12 years, Myriam stood out on the ice and the field as a hockey, ringette, and soccer player. Driven by the need to take on new physical challenges, she then transitioned to CrossFit and weightlifting, disciplines in which she also invested herself as a coach to guide other athletes. In 2022, she embraced a demanding career by becoming a firefighter, proving her strength of character once again. It was finally in 2023 that she found her true competitive calling in powerlifting. Her rise in this sport has been meteoric, quickly leading her to perform on the international stage while continuing to cultivate her passion for coaching.

Upcoming Challenges

In the short term, Myriam has her sights set on the Canadian Championship in March 2026. Her goal is to qualify to represent Team Canada once again, in both bench press and equipped 3-lift. Her long-term vision is equally ambitious: she aims to compete in the prestigious 2032 World Games (the Olympic equivalent for powerlifting), a milestone where she believes she will have reached her full athletic potential.

Beyond her personal performances, her overarching mission remains deeply human. She wants to continue sharing her passion for training with her clients, elevating her athletes to the highest possible level, while still having fun and practicing other sports that inspire her daily.
