Sean-Lester Atas
Massage Therapist & Physical Rehabilitation Therapist
« L’homme qui dit qu’il peut, et l’homme qui dit qu’il ne peut pas.. ont tous les deux raison» – Wayne Gretzky
His superpowers
Sean possesses a keen attention to detail and a natural ability to read and analyze the body’s mechanics. He excels at educating his patients, breaking down complex information into easy-to-understand concepts. His approach is the perfect balance of professional and personable; he often uses humor to create a comfortable environment while consistently providing optimal treatment.
His passions
He is driven by a love for learning and a commitment to constant self-improvement. Outside of his professional life, Sean is passionate about fitness and enjoys exploring the local culinary scene. In his downtime, he recharges by playing video games and staying informed through various podcasts.
His approach
Sean’s clinical philosophy follows a systematic progression: mobilize, stabilize, and integrate. He utilizes manual therapy and mobilization exercises to reduce pain and regain range of motion. He then focuses on stabilizing those gains through precise exercises, ensuring his patients get the most out of every movement, before finally re-integrating them into functional or sport-specific patterns. Sean believes that to truly treat an athlete, one must understand the physical demands of sport firsthand. Consequently, he has immersed himself in numerous disciplines to deeply relate to the physical experiences and challenges of his patients.
His background
Sean grew up on the basketball court, playing from the age of seven through to the D2 collegiate level. His time with various teams and coaches provided him with a foundational expertise in strength and conditioning. His athletic curiosity later led him to Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, bouldering, and cycling, eventually finding a true passion for Hyrox. His professional journey is equally diverse: he has worked as a pharmacy technician and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University, where he volunteered at the Health & Fitness Lab, all prior to completing his certifications as a Physical Rehabilitation Therapist and Massage Therapist.
