Yannick Banville

Endurance cyclist

Biography

Yannick Banville is a Canadian endurance cyclist competing at a high level in road cycling, gravel, and ultra-distance events. An endurance athlete from a young age, he finds as much fulfillment in the sense of adventure that cycling provides as in the competitive nature of racing. For Yannick, cycling is a way to explore, push his limits, and perform—whether over long distances or in more structured competitive settings.

Background

Over the years, Yannick has built a career defined by demanding challenges and versatility. At just 19 years old, he became one of the youngest athletes to complete the Transcontinental Bike Race in Europe, one of the most prestigious ultra-endurance cycling events in the world. He went on to gain high-level experience in both stage races and national and international competitions, racing against strong fields across North America and Europe. In 2025, he expanded his role by becoming an off-road cycling guide for David Lutzy, competing in several gravel races, including the Unbound Gravel 200. This experience further shaped his vision of sport as a collaborative effort built on trust and teamwork in pursuit of performance. For Yannick, guiding does not mean stepping aside. It is a demanding form of leadership: putting another athlete’s performance first while still delivering an elite-level performance.
