Jérémie Gauthier-Lacasse

Surfer

Biography

Jérémie is a surfer driven by adventure and curiosity. Originally from Montréal, he first pursued football before injuries forced him to rethink his athletic path. Eight years ago, he discovered surfing—a sport that quickly became his true calling and a central part of his lifestyle.

Background

Growing up far from the ocean never slowed Jérémie down. Instead, it became a driving force that led him to travel around the world in search of diverse waves. His passion for surfing brought him to work with Voyage Grand V, where he guides international surf expeditions, including trips to Iceland, Morocco, and South Africa. A formative year in New Zealand, spent living on the beach and embracing van life, helped him develop his longboarding skills and strengthen his connection to a simple, active, nature-focused lifestyle. A member of the SIC team since 2020, Jérémie primarily rides the 9’4 Smuggler and 5’6 Pistol Whip boards.

Passions

Surfing remains at the core of Jérémie’s life, whether in the ocean or on rivers. He especially enjoys Montréal river surf spots such as Vague à Guy and Habitat 67, even in winter conditions. Beyond sport, he is deeply passionate about sharing knowledge, adventure, and teaching. He works as a physical education teacher for children with mental challenges, a role that reflects his strong human and social commitment.

Career Highlights

– Organizer of the Vague à Guy Olympiads every year since 2020

– 2nd place at the Montréal Logfest in 2021, a key moment in his competitive caree

Next challenges

His upcoming challenges remain true to his path: to surf longer, stronger, and in a wider range of environments, while maintaining a balance between performance, health, and enjoyment.
